Wind Energy

I possess specialist knowledge in preparation, submission and management of wind turbine projects in Scotland, England and Ireland. This comprises due diligence and site feasibility, coordination of a project team and preparing of planning statements, visual and landscape impact assessments and justification of wind energy proposals.

Examples of schemes I worked to secure planning permission for are listed below.

  • Dykelands Farm, Aberdeenshire – planning permission granted by Aberdeenshire Council for 2 no. 120 kW wind turbines extending to 45 metre tip height. Planning application included commercial viability analysis, visual and landscape assessment and justification in planning terms. Electricity produced in order supplement agricultural business with excess supply exported to the national grid.
  • East Tolmauds, Aberdeenshire – planning permission granted on appeal to Scottish Ministers for 2 no. 79 metres 850 kW wind turbines, following a refusal by Aberdeenshire Council. Prepared and submitted planning appeal, responded to third party submissions and management appeal to a favourable determination. Electricity produced in order supplement agricultural business with excess supply exported to the national grid.
